Firstly, this is my first Convoy light, I own a Fenix PD36R Pro, but have just begun experimenting with other more custom options. This S15 is striking in that it feels lovely in the hand, the machining and anodising is seriously impressive, and the build quality and tolerances are superb. I purchased it with an SFT40 3000k with the 5A buck driver, the colour temperature and tint is beautiful. Night walks are very pleasant, and paths and surroundings are easy on the eye, bark and grass looks rich and true to life and the 5A driver provides enough light that I can see ~100 meters. I opted to buy an orange peel reflector separately (very inexpensive and simple to fit) and noticed a more diffuse hotspot and a smoother transition into the spill - I much prefer it to the smooth reflector especially given that the SFT40 3000k is not blindingly bright, and I’d rather have a usable beam 10-30m in front of me than a searchlight on night walks. The button feels great, and is recessed enough that the light can tailstand (very, very useful indoors to bounce off the ceiling). The light is also easily programmed, and I’ve turned off the memory mode so that it always turns on in moonlight mode so as to not blind myself if I’m in a dark room. Battery life is pretty good with Sanyo 3500mAh 18650s which are close to 4 years old now (with very little use) I can certainly get close to an hour and a half on boost including ramp down but much longer on 30% and high. I imagine newer cells would be even more impressive. All in all, for around £12 this is an extremely impressive light, one that I must admit has replaced my Fenix for daily duties. When I need 2800 lumens, I’ll choose that over the S15, but I do feel silly for spending £100 on the PD36R Pro, when great lights exist for a fraction of the price. Finally, the shipping experience to the UK was simply first class, it took 8 days in total and the tracking system was very informative. Props to Simon from Convoy! 5 Stars.

The S15 is a sleeper. It has all the traits of other Convoy S models, but the S15 housing is slightly thicker, giving it a grittier, more durable feel. (And a much stronger pocket clip.) Glad to see more emitter options being added.

The S15 is a very solid 18650 tube light, the build quality far exceeds the price range as usual for Convoy products. I got the SFT-40 3000k and it is a beautiful warm emitter. Thank you Simon!

I ordered the S15 with the lhp531 emitter and a 18350 tube. This setup is a great hot rod, that throws a wall of light in a small form factor.
